Day 2: From Brett
Sunday, July 20th, 2008We packed up so quickly so we could get out before the lifeguards got there. We wanted to make sure they did not make us walk to the south end for out launch.
Easy launch through 3 to 4 foot waves. Very nice weather. About 12 miles into our trip we noticed 2 other kayakers. We straight lined it to them and it turned out to be Mike Bode and Patrick Martin. After a short conversation and photo session they decided to paddle back to Ventura harbor with us. We continued back to the harbor were our new friends offered us a cool refreshment. I hope to paddle with these two again in the future.
We lugged our gear to the parking lot and called for our ride. Bob Hudson picked us up and brought us to his in-laws for the night. We were more than pleased with the generosity shown to us. After washing our gear Bob even treated us to a nice meal at Sal’s.
